PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clearly determine the blood pressure value to be measured. SOLUTION: This sphygmomanometer has a cuff 2, a pressurization means 6 which feeds air into the cuff 2, an exhaust valve 7 for exhausting air in the cuff 2, a pressure detecting means 8 which measures air pressure in the cuff 2, an impedance measuring means 10, a first low-pass filter 12, a second low-pass filter 14, and a signal processing means 13. The impedance of a living body is measured by the impedance measuring means 10 and the relationship between the pressure of the cuff 1 and the impedance is approximated from a plurality of straight lines by the signal processing means 13; the highest and lowest blood pressures are determined from the intersections of the plurality of straight lines, so that the highest and lowest blood pressures can be determined clearly. Since pulsatory components produced by arterial pulses superimposed on the relationship between the pressure of the cuff 2 and the impedance during the measurement of the blood pressure can be eliminated by means of the first low-pass filter 12 and the second low-pass filter 14, an approximate straight line can be determined without errors.
|
