The procedure computes a digital signature from the work, and transmits (2) information on the work and its exploitation to an external database which returns (3) identification data and a second digital signature, which is embedded in the work as a watermark. The watermarked version is then sent (5) to a trusted third party, along with both digital signatures and the identification data.
