PURPOSE: A safety device of sliding door of an omnibus is provided to prevent an omnibus from starting and to improve safety by making the accelerator pedal not operated when the sliding door is open. CONSTITUTION: A closing sensing unit(2) is installed to the sliding door of an omnibus and the closing sensing unit is connected to an input end of a control unit(3) and a warning device including a warning light(4) of instrument panel is connected to the output end of the control unit. Therefore the safety device of sliding door of an omnibus warns opening of the sliding door to a driver. An accelerator pedal-locking device(14) controlling operation of the accelerator pedal by controlling the opening of an engine throttle valve(10) is prepared to the throttle valve side. The accelerator pedal-locking device is connected to the output end of the control unit to be operated according to the opening signal of the sliding door. The control unit according to the signal of the closing sensing unit controls power supply of the accelerator pedal-locking device and therefore taking-off of the vehicle with opening the sliding door is prevented.
