PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy liquid fuel combustion device to prevent the occurrence of combustion deterioration and effects combustion of heavy liquid fuel without leaving unburnt combustibles. SOLUTION: In the heavy liquid fuel combustion device to form a swirling combustion flame in a boiler furnace 1 by effecting mutual swirling combustion of a plurality of flames, a heavy liquid fuel separator 101 is provided to separate heavy liquid fuel 16 fed in a liquid fuel supply line 7 into high heavy liquid fuel 102 and light liquid fuel 103 according to a specific gravity difference. A three channel type burner gun 104 having liquid fuel channels exclusively used for the respective heavy liquid fuel 102, light liquid fuel 103, and atomized fluid is used. A three-nozzle type atomizer 107 having spray nozzles exclusively used for the respective two types of liquid fuel is mounted, and the heavy liquid fuel 102 is sprayed toward a spot closer to the center of the boiler furnace 1.
