PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous motor with built-in permanent magnet enabling to suppress cogging torque and hot torque pulse with more efficiency than was conventionally possible. SOLUTION: 2 p pieces of magnetic projected pole parts 9, 10 are composed of p pieces of magnetic projected pole parts 9 in a first group evenly spaced at every one piece in the direction of circumference of a rotor core 7 and p pieces of magnetic projected pole parts 10 in a second group evenly spaced at every one piece in the direction of circumference. Opening anglesα1 of the pole parts 9 are smaller than opening anglesα2 of the pole parts 10. Then, the anglesα1,α2 are determined to satisfy the expressionα2-α1≈2β-(2n-1)τs: where n is a natural number,βis an angle between 2 pieces of imaginary center lines (CL1, CL2) of projected pole parts passing through the center of the adjacent 2 pieces of magnetic projected pole parts andτs is a slot pitch of a stator core.
