PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for display of a multimedia screen for a mobile composite communication terminal, to provide a device and a method that maintain an existing image on a display device and superimposes a background screen with high image quality and a multimedia screen on the existing screen and to provide a device and a method that display the background screen with high image quality on the displayed device. SOLUTION: The screen display device of a mobile terminal consists of a 1st memory that selectively stores image data for multimedia received by a service request of the mobile terminal or text data provided for a display service of the mobile terminal and image data for a background screen, a 2nd memory that stores the text data and the image data for the background screen, and an image output processing section that reads the data from the 1st and 2nd memories and provides the data to the display device.
