PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller that can display an image with high quality. SOLUTION: In the display controller provided with serial bus interface sections (105-108) that transmit serial data SDA synchronously with a serial clock SCL and controlling display of a video signal VD accompanied by a vertical synchronizing signal VS and a horizontal synchronizing signal HS on a display section 103 on the basis of control data received through the serial bus interface sections, the serial bus interface sections rewrite the control data synchronously with the vertical synchronizing signal VS. That is, a shift register 105 of the serial bus interface sections converts the serial data SDA into parallel data PDA synchronously with the serial clock SCL and a 2nd buffer 107 latches the parallel data PDA converted from the serial data SDA by the shift register 105 synchronously with the vertical synchronizing signal VS.
