PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved optical module that can surely monitor optical output without deteriorating the characteristics of such light-emitting device as a VCSEL. SOLUTION: In the optical module, the light-emitting element 16 having a plurality of emission points, a light-receiving element 18 that is optically connected to at least one emission point of the light-emitting device 16, and an optical waveguide body 32 that is optically connected to at least one emission point excluding the emission points of the light-emitting element 16 on a substrate 31.
