A fluorescent analysis element whereby a reagent or a sample to be detected can be immobilized, excited at a high efficiency and detected at a high efficiency without causing fluorescent fading. In this element, a metallic nanowell 3 is formed in a metallic film 2 on a substrate and the bottom of the metallic nanowell 3 is modified with an active group or a DNA for detection immobilized thereon. By photo-exciting a fluorescent reagent binding to an antigen bonded to the active group or a target DNA hybridized with the DNA for detection, fluorescent color development arises via highly efficient excitation without causing fluorescent fading.
