PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and closely analyze and evaluate data in a database by integrating PRIM and OLAP for a large amount of database analysis. SOLUTION: In a method according to this invention, first, a patient rule inductive method is applied to selected input variables and one output variable, and an area, which has a subset of database records that have a maximum average value as an output value, is generated. Subsequently, the subsets of records are put together, classified and compared, and then a new fiducial value is calculated. It is desired that pattern analysis of the subset records is performed using an on-line analysis processing function. Alternatively, a load item collecting function may be applied to the subsets to decrease the number of subset records, and then on-line analysis processing is applied to the decreased subsets.
