PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time-of-flight mass spectrometer capable of improving or relaxing an electrification phenomenon in an ion reservoir. SOLUTION: The time-of-flight mass spectrometer comprises an external ion source, a space where the ion generated at the external ion source remains, an ion reservoir composed of an ion pushing-out plate and a grid arranged so as to face each other interposing a space, taking out the ion from the space by accelerating the ion in pulse form, a time of flight type spectrometric part for separating the ion taken out through the grid by mass, and an ion detection device for detecting the ion separated by mass. It is constructed such that a pulse voltage with a polarity reverse to the polarity of the ion introduced into the ion reservoir can be impressed on the ion push-out plate.
