PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly determine in real time where in an effective image region, an image of an object photographed with camera is located. SOLUTION: A horizontal additional value of pixel data of one line is calculated for each line (311) and whenever the pixel data is incorporated, the vertical additional value of the pixel data at an incorporated position of the pixel is calculated (310). Whenever the horizontal additional value is acquired, the horizontal additional value is compared with a horizontal threshold (303), and a vertical position of a line is formed for each time when the horizontal additional value becomes larger or smaller than the horizontal threshold respectively (304). Whenever the vertical additional value is acquired for a predetermined line, the vertical additional value is compared with the vertical threshold (302), a horizontal position of a pixel is formed each time when the vertical additional value becomes larger or smaller than the vertical threshold respectively (307).
