<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary in which a user can put a mark on a part to be especially noticed in the contents of a dictionary and can originally relate the contents of the dictionary to contents to be referred in a different dictionary. <P>SOLUTION: A range is selected from the contents of the dictionary (S203, S204) to put a mark, and in the case of registering the mark, the information of the mark is stored (S208).
