<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader/writer for a two-way IC card allowing installation of a SIM (small IC card) having a contact/non-contact interface and having a function as a non-contact IC card and a function as an IC card reader/writer. <P>SOLUTION: To this reader/writer 1 for a two-way IC card having a USB connector 50, a SIM 2 having a contact/non-contact interface can be installed removably. The reader/writer is provided with a non-contact small reader/writer module 20, a control IC chip 3, an antenna coil 11 for non-contact communication, and a liquid crystal display 4 if necessary.
