<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of enhancing energy density even when a positive active material having LiMn<SB>2</SB>O<SB>4</SB>as a base skeleton is used. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is equipped with a positive electrode containing the positive active material having spinel type LiMn<SB>2</SB>O<SB>4</SB>as the base skeleton, a negative electrode containing a material storing and releasing lithium ions, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, and the BET specific surface area measuring value of the positive active material is 0.6 m<SP>2</SP>/g or less. The charge end potential of the positive active material is set to 4.0 V (vs. Li/Li<SP>+</SP>) or higher, and the discharge end potential is set to 2.8 V (vs. Li/Li<SP>+</SP>) or lower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
