A process for producing a spherical carbon material, characterized by oxidizing a spherical vinyl resin in an oxidizing gas atmosphere to obtain a spherical carbon precursor and carbonizing the precursor in a non-oxidizing gas atmosphere at 1,000-2,000‹C. When used as, e.g., a negative-electrode material for nonaqueous-electrolyte secondary cells, the spherical carbon material obtained exhibits excellent suitability including high output properties and durability. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007 |
