An image display apparatus is provided to minimize a color difference to raise the sharpness of a boundary surface of illumination and provide an effective illumination margin. An image display apparatus including a light source, a color divider(100) of dividing light projected from the light source according to colors, and a lens of combining the divided colors with each other is provided. The color divider(100) includes at least two color sections(110) for dividing colors based on a wavelength. The color sections(110) employ different refractive indices. The color sections(110) include glass having different refractive indices according to wavelengths. The color sections(110) include plastic. The color sections(110) have different refractive indices according to wavelengths so that a panel obtains light having the same refractive index according to wavelengths.
