The invention relates to a method for planning the placement of a device in a body, wherein information of at least a part of the internal structure of the body of a patient is analysed to determine if at least one specific or critical region or structure lies within a trajectory of the device in the body, to a computer program which when running on a computer or loaded onto a computer, causes the computer to perform this method, and to a device for planning the placement of a device in a body comprising an acquisition device for acquiring information of at least a part of the internal structure of the body of a patient and an analysing device for analysing the acquired information of the internal structure of the body to determine if at least one specific or critical region or structure lies within a region of interest around the planned trajectory of the device in the body. |
