PROJECTION DISPLAY ADOPTING LINE TYPE LIGHT MODULATOR

A projection display device is provided to display a color image at an improved light efficiency by using a line type light modulator. A projection display device includes a lighting unit, a scroll unit(120), a line type light modulator(130) and a scan unit(150). The lighting unit irradiates plural linear beams, which are parallel to each other. The scroll unit scrolls the linear beams. The line type light modulator modulates the linear beams according to an image signal. The scan unit irradiates the linear beams in a scroll direction and a normal direction. The lighting unit includes a laser source and a beam former. The laser source irradiates plural beams. The beam former converts the beams into plural linear beams with a predetermined width.
