PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc-containing ceramic material having inhibiting effect to activity of a microorganism and a method of producing the same. SOLUTION: The zinc-containing ceramic material sintered in the biscuit state is obtained by kneading a pseudo-alloy powder of zinc-aluminum or a mixed powder of zinc powder and aluminum powder with a clay-based binder, then forming the kneaded material, drying the formed body and firing the dried formed body at 750 to 950 deg.C. The zinc-containing ceramic material is useful as a material for inhibiting proliferation of microorganisms in a bath, a deodorant for a toilet or the like. |
