Disclosed is a method for producing a superconducting wire which enables to reduce the production cost while improving the mechanical strength of the superconducting wire. Also disclosed is a superconducting device comprising a superconducting wire obtained by such a method. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a superconducting wire, which comprises a step for forming a superconducting layer on a substrate or an intermediate layer formed on the substrate; a step for forming a silver stabilization layer on the superconducting layer; a step for immersing the substrate, on which the superconducting layer and the silver stabilization layer are formed, in an aqueous solution of copper sulfate; and a step for forming a copper stabilization layer on the silver stabilization layer by electroplating using the aqueous solution of copper sulfate as the plating bath. Also specifically disclosed is a superconducting device comprising a superconducting wire obtained by such a method.
