A minor channel conversion method is provided to allow a user to perform conversion of minor channel easily by displaying a minor channel banner on a screen for a predetermined time at the channel selection time. When a key of selecting a major channel is inputted, minor channel information within the major channel is constituted and then stored in a channel map(S10). A minor channel banner is displayed on a screen, wherein the minor channel banner shows minor channel numbers from the minor channel information(S20). When a number is inputted through the minor channel banner, it is determined whether there is a minor channel number corresponding to the inputted number in the minor channel map(S50). If there is the minor channel number corresponding to the inputted number in the minor channel map, a channel is converted into a corresponding minor channel(S60). If there is not the minor channel number corresponding to the inputted number in the minor channel map, the channel is converted into the major channel(S70).
