CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE PROVIDED WITH VARIABLE COMPRESSION RATIO MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit self-ignition in an internal combustion engine provided with a variable compression ratio mechanism for preventing uncomfortable sound caused by self-ignition. SOLUTION: A device for controlling an internal combustion engine provided with the variable compression ratio mechanism capable of changing compression ratio in an combustion chamber is constructed. The device is provided with a judgment means judging whether change of speed of the internal combustion engine or change of torque of the internal combustion engine is equal to or greater than a predetermined value; a compression ratio detection means detecting compression ratio in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine; and a control means retarding fuel injection timing for injecting fuel by a fuel injection valve according to detected compression ratio when change of torque or speed of the internal combustion engine is judged equal to or greater than the predetermined value. Self-ignition occurs when fuel is retained in the combustion chamber for a predetermined period of time. The predetermined period of time can not be easily reached by retarding fuel injection period, and self-ignition can be inhibited. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
