PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize any illegal access action to an external storage medium remaining in an external storage medium processor while a power source is turned off. SOLUTION: This method for controlling a publisher equipped with a processed disk stacker; an open/close door to be opened in the case of extracting the processed disk stored in the processed disk stacker to the outside; and a sensor control part for detecting the opening/closing operation of the open/close door not only while the power source is turned on but also while the power source is turned off includes a judgement step for judging whether or not the processed disk is stored in the processed disk stacker, and whether or not the open/close door has been opened while the power source is turned off based on the storage information of the processed disk and cover open/close information while the power source is turned off by a sensor control part according to a power source on instruction; and a warning generation step for generating warning by judging that any illegal access to the processed disk stacker has been performed while the power source is turned off when it is judged that the processed disk is stored in the processed disk stacker, and that the open/close door has been opened while the power source is turned off.
