PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage medium which enables plural devices to share a file without being aware of differences in language system and an information providing method which uses the storage medium. SOLUTION: The storage medium 10 can be mounted on or demounted from a device and it is equipped with storage parts 12a, 12b and 12d which store information and an MPU 11 which processes information. The MPU 11 converts the language system of information stored in the storage part 12b corresponding to the mounted device by a script stored in the storage part 12d, and provides it for the mounted device.
