PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat transfer recording method and a heat transfer recording medium employed favorably for the method capable of obtaining an image having excellent metallic gloss by employing the ordinary binary coping heat transfer recording medium capable of restricting the manufacturing cost to the utmost. SOLUTION: The heat transfer recording method wherein the image having metallic gloss is formed by employing the heat transfer recording medium provided on a substrate with a heat sensitive transferring ink layer containing a metallic pigment in binder to effect heat transfer on a white image receptor body by heating the heat sensitive heat transferring ink layer selectively, is characterized by forming the image having metallic gloss including both of an ink transfer part, in which the metallic pigment is condensed and separated in the heat sensitive transferring ink layer and exists while being exposed on the surface of the layer, and penetrating holes, formed by the heat sensitive transferring ink layer which is not transferred locally in the ink transfer area, in the transfer area of ink. |
