PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display(LCD) and driving method using an impulse are provided to realize a quick moving picture by converting a holding type emitting system display method into an impulse type emitting system display method and driving it. CONSTITUTION: A liquid display panel(100) is formed with a plurality of gate lines(S1,S2,S3,...,Sn) in order to transmit a gate on signal and data lines(D1,D2,...,Dm) in order to transmit a data voltage. A gate driver(200) outputs a scan signal performing an 'ON' on TFT(thin film transistor) of a pixel so that the data voltage is applied to the pixel. A data driver(300) changes a data compensating voltage(Vd) received from a data voltage compensating unit(400) into a relevant data voltage and applies it to each data lines(D1,D2,...,Dm). The data voltage compensating unit(400) is provided the data voltage(Vd) from a graphic-controller and provides the impulse type data compensating voltage(Vd) to the data driver(300).
