METAL TUBULAR COLUMN, AND REINFORCING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal tubular column which can considerably mitigate the local stress in a stress-concentrated portion and the welding heat residual stress in a welded portion and considerably improve the loading capacity and the fatigue performance, and is reinforced by the fiber reinforced plastic, and a reinforcing method of the metal tubular column. SOLUTION: The fiber reinforced plastic 20 is stuck to the stress-concentrated portion 5 and/or a portion in the vicinity thereof on an outer surface and/or an inner surface of the metal tubular column 1 to mitigate the local stress.
