PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the use of a more compact motor by reducing the torque to be applied to a stepping motor for carrying the recording medium when forming an image on a thick recording medium, and lower the cost by clearing the limitation by temperature rise and size. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, the recording medium is carried by a pulse motor such as a stepping motor. When carrying the recording medium, in the case where a discrimination that the recording medium is a thick paper sheet is done, the recording medium carrying timing is controlled so as to secure a space between the recording mediums wider than the case of using the normal recording medium. |
