PURPOSE:To enable easy change of a multi-stage cluster rolling mill in the same manner as a 4-stages rolling mill by providing stationary and movable rails in a driving side mill housing and stationary rolls on auxiliary roll chocks on the same plane as the plane of the rails on a changer carriage on an operation side. CONSTITUTION:Spacers 13 are inserted between the chocks Ra, Rb of the upper and lower work rolls R and upper back up and intermediate rolls 2, 1, chocks 11b, 3b are lifted from both housings 5 to space the upper roll R and the upper roll 1. The chock 3a of the lower roll 1 with wheels is lifted up to the prescribed position for changing from the chock 11a of the lower roll 2 and thereafter, opening and closing type rails 8 are turned to close a notched part 7a of the stationary rails 7. On the other hand, the changer carriage 10 is moved on the operation side and is pressed and fixed to the end of the stationary rails 9 on the chock 11a. The chock 3a is then lowered to lower the wheels 4a on the rails 7, 9, 10 and the chock 3a is moved and fixed from the inside of the two housings onto the carriage 10. The exchange of the rolls R, 1 is thus executed. The reassembly is thereafter carried out by the procedure reverse from the above-mentioned procedure.
