PURPOSE:To reduce winding capacity by using a tap winding connected in parallel with an exciting winding for a series transformer as one part of a shunt winding of an auto-main-transformer. CONSTITUTION:An auto-main-transformer 1 is constituted of a series winding 3 and a shunt winding 4, and the shunt winding 4 is organized by connecting a shunt main winding 4a and a tap winding 5 in series. One end of the series winding 3 is led out as a primary terminal U while the other end is connected to one end of the shunt main winding 4a, and one end on the side not connected to the shunt main winding 4a for the tap winding 5 is led out as a neutral point N and grounded. On the other hand, one end u1 of a voltage regulating winding 6 for a series transformer 2 is connected to a node Y1 between the series winding 3 and the shunt main winding 4a while the other end of the series winding 3 is led out as a secondary terminal (u). One end x1 of an exciting winding 7 for the series transformer 2 is connected to an end-section terminal P1 or P2 for the tap winding 5 through a contact P0 for a polarity changer for the on-load tap changer S while the other end X2 of the exciting winding 7 is connected to an arbitray terminal T1-T9 in the tap winding 7 or a terminal T0(=P0) for the polarity changer through a tap selector M.
