PURPOSE:To sensibly increase the information transmission speed and to make the display easy to see by flickering or intermitting a visual or audio indicator a prescribed number of times in accordance with diagnostic information and setting a certain blank time independently of this prescribed number thereafter and discriminating and displaying a trouble position of a system. CONSTITUTION:When diagnostic information is displayed with the number of times of flicker of a lamp 4, the lamp 4 is flickered the prescribed number of times in accordance with diagnostic information and a certain blank time TB is set independently of this number of times of flicker thereafter. Since the certain blank time TB is set independently of the number of times of flicker after the lamp 4 is flickered the prescribed number of times, the blank time TB is not varied though the fundamental cycle of display is varied by the number of times of flicker of the lamp 4. Thus, since information is displayed in the shortest time when the number of times of flicker of the lamp can be visually confirmed and the blank time TB is minimized, the information transmission speed is increased and normal display and erroneous recognition are prevented. |
