An endoscope, in particular an arthroscope, has a shaft (5) carrying an eyepiece and optical fibres (14) arranged concentrically about the shaft. The shaft which carries the eyepiece is part of an observation component (2) and the optical fibres (14) are part of an illumination component (2). The illumination component (2) has a sheath consisting of two hollow cylinders. The optical fibres (14) pass between the walls (15a and 15b) formed by the hollow cylinders and the observation component (1) can be inserted into the illumination component (2). |
