PURPOSE:To prevent sticking of dust to the optical tape medium which records or reproduces information by a light spot converged by an optical system and to improve the recording and reproducing characteristics thereof by previously forming a thin film for electrostatic prevention on the tape surface. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 102 consisting of a thin Te film is deposited at about 300Angstrom thickness on one surface of a base film 101 consisting of polyethylene terephthalate, etc., and is protected by an SiO2 layer 103 having about 1,000Angstrom thickness. A carbon film 104 formed to 50Angstrom is deposited on the other corner to form the DRAW type optical tape medium. The tape medium is irradiated with the laser light from the carbon film 104 side while the light is converged to evaporate the recording layer 102 in this part and to generate a hole, by which the information is recorded. The sticking density of >=2mum dust on the surface of the conductive film 104 after the tape formed in such a manner is rested for 24 hours in an ordinary environmental chamber is about 10 pieces/cm<2> and is much smaller than about 10<3> pieces/cm<2> when the conductive film 104 is not provided. |
