PURPOSE:To perform recording of three or more dimensions by using metal alkoxide based on vanadium as a raw material and forming a film based on vanadium oxide on a substrate by a liquid phase method to form a high density optical recording element. CONSTITUTION:Water is dripped to a 5wt.% solution of vanadium-n-butoxide in alcohol as a 2wt.% alcohol solution and the hydrolysis of vanadium butoxide is advanced to prepare a sol. Subsequently, this sol is applied to a disc 1 made of polycarbonate using a spinner and dried at room temp. to prepare an optical recording disc (high density optical recording element) having an amorphous vanadium oxide film 2 formed thereto. The aforementioned amorphous vanadium oxide film 2 changes in its hue by the irradiation with laser beam and this hue change can be generated in a multistage fashion by changing the output of a light source and, by this method, recording of three or more dimensions can be performed. |
