PURPOSE:To heighten the quality of images by driving and controlling stepping motors, varying the intervals of switching the excitation of the exciting windings of the stepping motors periodically in accordance with speed variation data stored in memory units, in time of rotating the stepping motors. CONSTITUTION:Drive units 71, 72 drive stepping motors 19, 22 by switching and exciting in a specified order a plurality of exciting windings provided on the stator sides of the stepping motors 19, 22 which rotate an image-carrying substance, and memory units 92, 93 store a plurality of speed variation data of the stepping motors 19, 22. And, the intervals of switching the excitation of the exciting windings of the stepping motors 19, 22 are periodically varied in accordance with the speed variation data stored in the memory units 92, 93, in time of rotating the stepping motors 19, 22. By such arrangement, a control unit 81 controls the drive units 71, 72. |
