<p>An integrated-optic component, having a glass substrate (1) comprising integrated-optic waveguides (1), is characterised in that the substrate comprises, furthermore, longitudinal grooves (13, 14, 15) on either side of the central portion (6) of the substrate, which grooves arise from machining by using the terminal portions of the guides which extend beyond this central portion, as references for their lines, and two transverse grooves (7, 8; 17, 18), on each side of the central portion of the substrate, with, between them, a height-regulated rib (9, 19) for holding each fibre to be connected to the waveguides emerging from this side.
