<p>A transmission line selection system selects a transmission line to be used for a data transfer from a first data processing system (10) to a second data processing system (4X) which are coupled via a communication network (20) which includes a plurality of transmission lines (3X). The transmission line selection system (11) includes a first storage (1) for storing data related to the transmission lines which can be used for the data transfer from the first data processing system to the second data processing system, a second storage (2) for storing data related to request conditions required for the data transfer for each of applications processed by the first data processing system, a third storage (3) for storing data related to status of each of the transmission lines, and a selector (4) for selecting in response to a data transfer request an optimum transmission line to be used for the data transfer from the first data processing system to the second data processing system based on the data stored in the first, second and third storages. <IMAGE></p> |
