PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording medium characterized by that the initial reflection density of a light reflecting layer is kept and not only the contrast of an image part and a non-image part but also repeated rewriting resistance are enhanced. CONSTITUTION:In a rewritable thermal recording medium wherein a recording layer 4 based on a resin and the org. low-molecular substance dispersed in said resin and reversibly changed in its transparency in dependence on temp. is provided on the light reflecting layer 2 of a support 1 through an adhesive layer 3, the adhesive layer 3 is constituted of a material based on a thermoplastic polyparabanic acid resin excellent in heat resistance, solvent resistance and the adhesion to a metal. From the characteristics of the polyparabanic acid resin, a crack is hardly generated in the light reflecting layer 2 at the time of the formation of the adhesive layer 3 and an org. solvent hardly penetrates in the adhesive layer 3 at the time of the formation of the recording layer 4 and the deterioration of the light reflecting layer 2 by the contact with the solvent is reduced and, therefore, the lowering of reflection density is hardly generated and the peel phenomenon of the adhesive layer 3 from the light reflecting layer 2 can be also reduced. |
