PURPOSE: To provide a herb-washing machine which can carry out the washed herbs as their leaves are properly arranged, even when their roots are still at random after washing, by fixing the leaves of the herb and keeping their roots unfastened in order to wash their roots. CONSTITUTION: This herb-washing machine comprises an endlessly rotatable mesh belt 3, a conveying belt 8 which is arranged in parallel in the next to the mesh belt 3 and endlessly rotates in the same direction as the mesh belt 3, a pressing belt 9 which is arranged above the conveying belt 8 to press a part of the herb bodies and nip them in combination with the conveying belt 8 and rotates in the same direction as above, a driving means that allows the mesh belt 3, the conveying belt 8 and the pressing belt 9 to rotate in the same direction at an equal speed, at least one pair of water-sprinkling tubes which are rotatable around a shaft as the center, a plurality of water-jetting nozzles which are set to the water-sprinkling tubes at a prescribed interval in the shaft direction pointing toward the mesh belt 3, and a driving means for the water- sprinkling tubes which allows the sprinkling tubes to rotate around the shaft center reciprocatingly in a prescribed angular range. |
