PURPOSE: To sufficiently improve the precision of a translation to be postedited by substituting a sentence which is not translated for an arbitrary fixed part in an original text and performing machine translation. CONSTITUTION: A term fixing means 2 inputs the original text 1 and obtains information on respective morphemes of the original text 1 from a dictionary means 7. Then an applicable rule in a term fixation rule 8 is applied to the morpheme information. A matching range of the original text is marked and matched against a mark which is already present in the original text l, and the marked original text is transferred to a term substituting means 3. The substituting means 3 inputs the marked original text having the term fixation range marked by a fixing means 2, checks the presence of an unprocessed mark part, and obtains an equivalent of a target language corresponding to the source language of the mark part from the dictionary means 7 and substitutes the target language for the marked part. When there is no unprocessed marked part, the original text having all marked parts replaced with the target language is transferred to a machine translating means 4 and translated, and the result is sent to a postediting means 5. |
