PURPOSE: To obtain an acceleration sensor which can detect an acceleration in the horizontal direction while eliminating the effect of gravitational acceleration easily. CONSTITUTION: Two acceleration sensors 14, 16 are fixed in a case. The two acceleration sensors 14, 16 are disposed not in parallel with the vertical plane and not to intersect the vertical plane perpendicularly. The acceleration sensors 14, 16 are disposed symmetrically to each other with respect to the vertical plane. A servo motor 18 is fixed to the case and controlled such that the two acceleration sensors 14, 16 are in a predetermined positional relationship constantly with respect to the vertical plane. The acceleration sensor 10 is used as a part of navigation system and fixed to an automobile 20, for example. |
