Trailer tow bar with shear pin - has breakage warning with electric contact operated by pushing in of telescopic sections

The rigid towbar has two telescopic sections which are secured together by a shearpin (7) designed to break at a set loading to protect the towing vehicle. If the towbar is used to push the trailer then a warning plut(9) is displaced when the shearpin breaks to operate a warning device in the cab. The plug moves laterally out of the towbar and operates a sprung lever (10) laid alongside the towbar. This is coupled mechanically to a warning linkage in the cab.
