PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a ghost by relatively inclining the rear surface of a glass plate on which an original is placed to the axis of light entering into a first mirror from an original surface. SOLUTION: A platen glass 22 is arranged to be tilted to a horizontal plane by about 1 deg. above halogen lamps 20. Light (harmful light) reflected on the outside of the effective ranges of mirrors M1 and M2 and returned to the rear surface of the platen glass 22 is reflected on the rear surface, but the rear surface of the platen glass 22 does not perpendicular to the axis of light entering into the first mirror M1 from the original surface (angleα<90 deg.), so that the harmful light is reflected at a large angle of reflection on the rear surface of the platen glass 22 and is deviated remarkably from the axis. Since the harmful light does not reach an image forming lens 16, the occurrence of the ghost can be prevented.
