PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a length of the portable communication equipment main body and the cover even when the size of the portable communication equipment with cover is constant in use. SOLUTION: In the portable communication equipment provided with a cover 2 open/closed to the main body 1, the cover 2 is made up of plural pieces 16, 17 and configured to be folded and the speech enable mode is set by folding the cover 2 made up of plural pieces 16, 17. Then a microphone 20 is arranged to the piece 16 in the plural pieces 16, 12 being the components of the cover 2 and a microphone hole 19 is formed to a position of the other piece 17 opposite to the microphone 20 in the folded state in the speech enable mode. Furthermore, the piece 16 arranged with the microphone 20 is directly connected to the main body 1. Moreover, a switch 14 is provided to the main body 1 so that the communication is made available in the folded state of the cover 2 in the speech enable mode.
