PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone by which a user can hear a voice by a stereo earphone or a monaural earphone and that reduces current consumption in the case of using the monaural earphone. SOLUTION: The mobile phone is provided with a voice output means 1 with an earphone type identification function that identifies a type of an earphone 6, outputs an identification signal S2 and supplies a voice signal to the earphone 6, a changeover means 3 that receives the identification signal S2 to output a switching signal S3, a control means 4 that receives the switching signal S3 to output a stereo or monaural control signal S4, and a drive means 5 that receives the control signal S4 and supplies a drive signal S5 to the voice output means 1 with an earphone type identification function. The mobile phone can use an earphone of a different kind and the power-down control is applied to one-side channel circuit, not used, in the control means 4 when the monaural earphone is in use so as to reduce the current consumption of the entire mobile phone. |
