The invention relates to a hood lifting device with a spring support (10) for swiveling coverings having a pair of guiding forks (11, 12), in which both guiding forks are shifted relative to each other by a 90 DEG angle around the main axis and surrounded in an essentially flexible manner by a helical spring (13). The facing ends (14, 15) of the guiding forks (11, 12) are closed, said closed ends (14, 15) of the guiding forks (11, 12) being interconnected simulating the links of a chain so that they can serve at the same time as a pull-out locking device for the spring support (10).
