PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery which can suppress gas generation to a further extent. SOLUTION: In this battery, negative electrode plates and positive electrode plates are arranged with a separator interposed between them and housed in a case. The length of an internal space of the case in the stacking direction is adapted to be such a dimension as to keep the thickness increase ratio of a negative electrode active material before and after the injection of an electrolytic solution at 5 to 25%, whereby gas generation quantity can be reduced. Accordingly, improvement of other items of battery performance can be expected. |
