PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fuel consumption and restrain generation of exhaust gas by stopping injection of fuel when a fuel combustion chamber comes to a high temperature, and instead thereof continuously or intermittently injecting water stored in a water reserving tank. SOLUTION: In a fuel supply mechanism of a multicylinder diesel engine D to continuously inject a proper amount of fuel to a fuel combustion chamber 3 via a fuel supply line 2 from a fuel reserving tank 1a, a controller 4 is provided on the way of a fuel supply line 2, and the controller 4 is connected to a water reserving tank 1b via a water supply line 5. A temperature in the chamber 3 and engine speed are detected at the controller 4, and when the detected temperature comes to a specified high temperature or more the fuel injection to the chamber 3 is stopped, and instead thereof water is injected to generate water vapor explosion, and the revolution of the engine D is continued. Accordingly, the fuel consumption and exhaust gas of the engine D is reduced to ensure an excellen operation in the view of economy and environment. |
