PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC/AC converter which enables DC/AC conversion of a high-voltage large current by using low withstand voltage thyristors. SOLUTION: A DC voltage is divided by a number of capacitors 12a and 12b which are connected in series to each other. One unit is composed of adjacent two capacitors 12a and 12b. A thyristor 13a, by which charge stored in the one capacitor 12a of the unit is discharged via the primary winding 14a of an insulating transformer 14 is provided. On the other hand, a thryistor 13b by which charge stored in the other capacitor 12b of the unit is discharged via the primary winding 14a of an insulating transformer 14 in the opposite direction is provided. By turning on/off the thyristors 13a and 13b alternately, a required AC voltage is obtained from a secondary winding 14b of the transformer 14. The divided voltages of the capacitors 12a and 12b are applied to the respective thyristors 13a and 13b. Since those voltages are low, use of low withstand voltage thyristors are enabled. |
